Field vane shear tester kit

The field vane shear tester is used to measure the in-situ undrained shear strength in water-saturated fine-grained soils, clays. It is primarily intended for use in trenches and excavations at a depth not infuenced by drying and excavation procedures.

The range of the instrument depends on the different sized vanes are used (for different types of soils). The accuracy of the instrument should be within 10% of the reading.

The kit consists of:

- set of for-bladed vanes and conical vane

- torque wrench 100 or 200 kN range

- coupling to determine surface friction

- connectors for rods

- carrying box for whole set (optional)
